The individual exhibition presents a unique set of works carried out by Antonio Dias in the mid-1980s based on tests and plastic experiments involving discarding materials such as cardboard and magazine and newspaper pages and his well-known researches with physicochemical reactions between pigments metallic minerals such as graphite, gold, copper and malachite. Neither projects, nor studies, are works developed as exercises in the intimacy of the artist's studio in Milan, shortly before moving to Germany, in a time marked by international movements for revival of painting, such as the Italian Transvanguardia, German neo-expressionism and bad American painting. Little to the public, these works were kept with the artist, being recovered at times for the purpose of personal observation.
