Installations, paintings, films and works in other media by Antonio Dias will be on view from March 21 at the unprecedented exhibition Antonio Dias: Defeats and Victories, at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo.
Curated by Felipe Chaimovich and sponsored by Credit Suisse, the show brings together emblematic works, many of them rarely exhibited, all coming from the artist's personal collection. “When he died in August 2018, Antonio Dias had assembled a collection of his own works that covered his entire artistic career. The set consisted both of pieces from which he had never been separated, and of other repurchases from third parties to whom they had been sold. It was, therefore, an intentionally built, maintained and kept representation of himself”, explains the curator.
