The Kinetic Object C-5 (1968) by Abraham Palatnik is participating in the exhibition Maquinações – Homens, Máquinas e a Invenção do Cotidiano [Machinations – Men, Machines and the Invention of Everyday Life]. According to the curator Fred Paulino, the exhibition aims to present works that focus on interaction, analog technology, reuse, and accessible solutions and techniques as a counterpoint to the complexity of our times.
Maquinações is an international group show that is currently in its fifth edition. The project is part of the Gambiólogos [Gambiologists] series that brings together artists from different parts of the world, united by the intersection between art and technology in their practices. They are artists who develop devices from everyday life, proposing new possibilities for the use of materials, often subverting their original function.
