Marco Castillo presents The Hands of the Collector, his solo exhibition curated by Laura Mott, featuring several bodies of work by the artist and prolific collector of Cuban mid-century design that he initially started to amass while working as part of the artist collective Los Carpinteros (1992–2018). The exhibition opens to the public on July 11 at the Cranbrook Art Museum, and remains on view through September 1st.
On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition , on July 13, at 3pm, the artist joins other Cuban artists in the exhibition series of talks entitled ‘A Modernist Regime: The Contemporary Cuban Lens’. The conversation will be moderated by co-curators Laura Mott and Abel González Fernández. The talk is free with museum admission.
