Cristina Canale studied at the Visual Arts School of Parque Lage, based in Rio de Janeiro, and in 1984 participated in the historical show Como vai você, Geração 80?. In the following decade the artist departs to study painting at the Academy of Arts in Düsseldorf, Germany. Since then, Cristina has lived and worked in Berlin and her work includes collections such as Gilberto Chateaubriand (MAM-RJ), João Sattamini (MAC-Niterói), Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo, Itaú Cultural, MAC-USP, Marcantonio Vilaça Recife), Metrópolis (TV Cultura, SP), Jornal O Globo (RJ) and Sammlung der Stadt Sparkasse Frankfurt Oder (Germany), among others. Canal-Arte went to Berlin to talk to the artist. In this interview Cristina talks about working outside the country, her work process and what she is developing today.
