In September 2024, JR set up a green screen studio in the streets of seven different neighborhoods of Naples. Everyone passing by was invited to take part. In total, the artist photographed and recorded the stories of 606 Neapolitans, creating Le Cronache di Napoli, a mural that celebrates the city’s diversity and vitality. The work was installed on the façade of the Duomo, Naples’ cathedral.

Alongside the installation of the mural, JR presents the exhibition Who Are You, Naples? at Gallerie d’Italia – Napoli, the eighth chapter in the Chronicles series. The show reveals the creative process behind the series, which combines photography, video, and oral storytelling to build large-scale community portraits — visual and human records of our time.
The exhibition also features three earlier murals: Chroniques de Clichy-Montfermeil (France), Las Crónicas de Cuba (Cuba), and The Gun Chronicles: A Story of America (USA).
