José Dávila presents Las piedras saben dormir at MAZ, curated by Jérôme Sans.

After more than a decade exhibiting his work in national and international institutions, Mexican artist José Dávila returns to Guadalajara, his hometown, with the solo exhibition Las piedras saben dormir, curated by Jérôme Sans.

The exhibition, on view at the Museo de Arte de Zapopan (MAZ) from May 31 to November 2, 2025, brings together works that condense Dávila’s poetic reflection on silent resignation before the universal forces of the natural world. For the artist, stones—immobile and timeless—symbolize a contemplative attitude toward life, serving as a metaphor for accepting the flow of change without losing our essence.
