"O ilusionista" is a tribute to Antonio Dias (1944-2018), one of the most important contemporary Brazilian artists, recently deceased in Rio de Janeiro. The necessity of its realization led us to alternative paths to the elaboration of a curatorial discourse based on historical-critical research. "O ilusionista", therefore, without any mediation other than that of the visual sequencing and objectified relations in the assembly, confronts the visitor directly with most of the 62 works of the artist belonging to the MAM Rio collections, produced between 1961 and 1983 (4 of which are undated).
