Untitled (2002), by Karin Lambrecht, is on display in 'Picture Gallery in Transformation: Recent Gifts' at Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP), curated by Adriano Pedrosa and Amanda Carneiro. The exhibition brings together thirteen works by women artists who have recently been incorporated into the museum's collection. This initiative is part of the institution's efforts, intensified in recent years, to expand and consolidate the female presence in its collection. If in the 2019 exhibition cycle, entitled Women's Stories, Feminist Stories, MASP had already focused its programming on valuing this production, the year 2021 was also marked by exhibitions dedicated to them. Lambrecht's work, donated by social scientist and collector Miguel Chaia, is a diptych that synthesizes fundamental issues in the practice of the artist from Rio Grande do Sul, bearing in mind the fundamental presence of matter, especially earth, as well as the dismantling of the chassis, a trademark of the artist in her initial works in the 1980s.
