Alberto Pitta is one of the artists featured in the exhibition Lélia em nós: festas populares e amefricanidade, on view at Sesc Vila Mariana.
The exhibition, held in partnership between Sesc São Paulo and Boitempo, was inspired by the book Festas populares no Brasil and promotes a celebration of Afro-Brazilian culture based on a section that establishes dialogues and reflections prompted by the intellectual production of Lélia Gonzalez, a prominent activist in the Brazilian black movement and an important theoretician of black feminism, whose death will mark 30 years on July 10, 2024.
The exhibition will continue at SESC Vila Mariana until November 24, 2024.
