Jonathas de Andrade and Carlos Bunga are participating in ‘Manifesta 15’, a project that presents artistic interventions in prominent historical sites and industrial buildings that have never been open to the public, seeking to decentralize the cultural infrastructure of Barcelona and its neighboring cities and towns.

Jonathas de Andrade presents Knot in the Throat (2022), on view at the Natural Science Museum, and Out Loud (2022), at Vapor Buxeda Vell, an old textile factory from 1852, and one of the pioneers of the Industrial Revolution in Catalonia.

Carlos Bunga is presenting for the first time La irrupción de lo impredecible (2024), a work commissioned especially for the exhibition consisting of a monumental painting that emanates light from the floor and a series of cocoons hanging from the ceiling of the ‘Three Chimneys’, a building that is one of the industrial landmarks of Barcelona’s coastal landscape.

The Manifesta 15 is on view through November 24 in Spain.
