Brígida Baltar: Pontuações brings together approximately 200 works, including 50 unpublished pieces, produced over nearly three decades of the carioca artist's career. The exhibition features photographs, videos, installations, sculptures, and textual memories from the artist.
According to curator Marcelo Campos, this exhibition is “the first posthumous show to gather such a significant body of work.” The title, “Pontuações,” refers to the artist's own writings, which document her preferences regarding the organization of her works. “Many of the artist's phrases and reflections on the works accompany the entire exhibition,” adds the curator.
Produced in partnership with the Brígida Baltar Institute and Nara Roesler Gallery, and curated by Marcelo Campos, Amanda Bonan, the MAR team, and guest curator Jocelino Pessoa, the exhibition presents a vast collection of works ranging from photographs to videos, installations, sculptures, and textual memories, inviting the public to celebrate the work and legacy of one of Brazil's great contemporary artists.
