Instituto Ling opens on June 10 the solo exhibition A pele da planta, by Brígida Baltar.
Curated by Marcelo Campos, the show presents a selection of works specially produced by the artist for this exhibition, including drawings, photographs, sculptures, and embroideries.
The original project, conceived by Brígida in 2020 for the exhibition space, evokes the atmosphere of the cultural center's gardens. After her passing in 2022, the proposal was completed in dialogue with the Brígida Baltar Institute, honoring her poetics and memory.
On the opening day, there will be a public talk featuring curator Marcelo Campos; the artist’s son and president of the institute, Tiago Baltar; cultural manager Jocelino Pessoa — artistic director of the Brígida Baltar Institute —; and artist Ygor Landarin, who worked as Brígida’s assistant.
The talk will be held in person, with free admission, at the Instituto Ling auditorium. Prior registration is required to attend.
