From February 14 to August 17, 2025, the Philharmonie de Paris presents Disco: I’m Coming Out, an exhibition dedicated to the cultural, political, and aesthetic legacy of disco music. Born in the United States in the early 1970s, the genre quickly became a global phenomenon, bringing together diverse communities under a shared spirit of celebration and freedom. The exhibition traces disco’s Afro-American roots, heir to soul, gospel, and funk, and explores its visual and sonic impact through audiovisual archives, photographs, costumes, design objects, and artworks. Among the highlights are Nile Rodgers (Disco), Tom Moulton (Disco), and Giorgio Moroder (Disco) (all 2024), by Xavier Veilhan, paying tribute to some of the genre’s most iconic figures.
