The work Le Carrosse (2009) by Xavier Veilhan is part of the exhibition Bien venus!, on view at the Château ducal de Cadillac-sur-Garonne starting in spring 2025. Organized in partnership between the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) and the Centre des monuments nationaux (CMN), the exhibition proposes a dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation, featuring works from Cnap’s national collection across seven historic monuments in France. Monumental and enigmatic, Le Carrosse evokes the codes of power representation and creates a striking visual and temporal contrast with the classical architecture of the château. The work invites the public to rediscover the historic site through a sensitive and poetic lens.
