Directed Games, a film by Jonathas de Andrade presented in the 30th Anniversary Exhibition Choreographies of the Everyday, will be screened on November 9 with a live music performance.
In the work, the vocabulary of a sign language uniquely developed by the community of Várzea Queimada (Brazil) appears on screen, accompanied by the resonant sounds of percussion and whistle, capturing the vivid moment of learning new words. In this special session, the artist joins musician Homero Basílio for a live performance in which percussion instruments and everyday objects are played in sync with the film, creating an immersive experience between text and sound.
The audience is invited to participate by bringing small percussion instruments or everyday objects that produce sound — such as shakers, bells, or small metal and wooden items — and become part of this collective celebration.
