The Art of Fake News is an event including visual art, talks, films, performances and music presented by a group of Latin American, British and other European artists to debate culture and raise awareness of the phenomenon and effects of fake news.
Marcos Chaves participates with “Vai Passar (?)” (2019), which, since its creation, has traveled from the top of Museu de Arte do Rio (MAR), in Brazil, to galleries in NY. Now, it makes its debut in the UK. Chaves’ flag, waving in the wind, transforms promises, like the phrase “it’s going to pass’, taken from a song by Chico Buarque, into indeterminacy, in the form of a question mark.
