On October 25th (Tuesday), at www.livrosdeartista.itaucultural.org.br, Itaú Cultural will make available the virtual exhibition Livros de Artista na Coleção Itaú Cultural, which allows the public access to a collection whose production reveals how participation and artistic invention draw boundaries with literature and design.
Now, also transcending the spatial limits of a physical exhibition and using immersive and interactive resources, the show brings a new curatorship by Felipe Scovino and the Visual Arts Centers and Itaú Cultural Collection for this one, with 23 works by 16 artists.
Some of them are: Julio Plaza and Augusto de Campos, Rosângela Rennó, Brígida Baltar, Marcelo Silveira, Waltercio Caldas, Aline Motta, Marilá Dardot and Artur Barrio – the latter, author of Caderno Livro and Uma Extension in Time, who started this collection in 1999 .
Allowing the public to have contact with this artistic expression of such a vast and diverse concept – ranging from the object-book to the concrete poems –, the exhibition presents this collection in a virtual form for the first time.
Previously, other clippings were shown in the exhibition Narrativas em Processo: Artist Books in the Itaú Cultural Collection, which from 2016 began touring Brazil.
