urban impressions: experiencing the global contemporary metropolis

Lucia Koch participates in Urban Impressions: Experiencing the Global Contemporary Metropolis, a group show curated by Frauke V. Josenhans for the Moody Center for the Arts at Rice University in Houston, United States.

The exhibition starts from a provocation proposed by the curator: What does it mean to live in a city today? Altogether, fifteen artists of the most different nationalities present possible answers to these questions.

Koch's proposition is formulated in Air (2015), a fabric printed with a color gradient that refers to the colors and temperatures of the atmosphere. This filter curtain crosses the gallery space, reformulating the design of the space, creating chromatic layers of opacity and configuring new relationships between inside and outside.
