Tomie Ohatke integrates the selection of 70 artists present in the exhibition 'ACTION, GESTURE, PAINT WOMEN ARTISTS AND GLOBAL ABSTRACTION (1940-70)'. On view through March at Kunsthalle Bielefeld, the group show features 130 paintings produced exclusively by international women artists who worked with gestural abstraction after World War II. The result of a collaboration between Kunsthalle Bielefeld, White Chapel Gallery and the Vincent Van Gogh Arles Foundation, the exhibition celebrates female artistic production beyond a look at the expressionist movement recognized predominantly by white male painters.
