Galeria Nara Roesler announces its first online viewing room on Artsy that will accompany Sérgio Sister’s solo exhibition at Galeria Nara Roesler | São Paulo: Images of a Pop Youth – Political Paintings and Prison Drawings. The show features never-before-seen works by Sérgio Sister, produced while he was incarcerated in the 1970's, during the military dictatorship in Brazil.
The viewing room presents a selection of Sister's recent works — creating a virtual space where the viewer can better understand the progression that links the artist’s dramatically different phases.
The artist explores how colors behave, how pigments converse and interact — for him, the canvas is a place for colors to stand for themselves, and not merely as a means to represent something else.
We plan to launch viewing rooms online every three months that will act as a complement to our physical shows as well as independent presentations that will offer the gallery a fourth space to show our international roster of artists to a collector base that crosses borders and generations.
