Nara Roesler presents, at Frieze New York 2026, works by Jonathas de Andrade, from his series Jangadeiros e Canoeiros, alongside sculptures by Marcelo Silveira in Cajacatinga wood. Rooted in the Brazilian Northeast, De Andrade reflects on regional sailing traditions shaped by tensions between heritage and modernity, while Silveira transforms a nearly extinct wood into refined forms that reveal their own fragile origins. Their dialogue is framed by references to Hélio Oiticica and Tomie Ohtake, whose works introduce rhythm and organic movement within geometric structures.
