In 2018, Brígida Baltar presented A carne do mar [The Flesh of the Ocean], a solo show curated by Marcelo Campos at Nara Roesler São Paulo.
The exhibition showcased sculptures in ceramics and enameled porcelain inspired by her childhood memories, whereshe remembers searching for perfect seashells on the sands of Copacabana, yet finding nothing but fragments. The fragments ultimately became a metaphor for fundamental subjects in the artist’s practice like the body, the house, and intimacy.
