Whirligig, an installation by conceptual artist Dan Graham, will be on display in the MAM Rio's external area through January 30th.
Whirligig is part of the Pavilions series that the artist has been developing since the late 1970s. These structures, composed of mirrored glass, inhabit the interstice between architecture, sculpture, and site-specific.
It is the first time that this work is presented in Brazil. In 2019, the work was at Fundação Proa in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2017, Nara Roesler São Paulo presented a solo show by the artist in which he presented works from his Pavillions series. One of the works from the series is installed at Inhotim gardens.
The project is supported by Ternium and co-organized by Fundação Proa.
