Tomie Ohatke integrates the selection of 70 artists present in the exhibition 'ACTION, GESTURE, PAINT WOMEN ARTISTS AND GLOBAL ABSTRACTION (1940-70)'. On view through October at Fondation Vincent Van Gogh Arles, the group show features 130 paintings produced exclusively by international women artists who worked with gestural abstraction after World War II. The result of a collaboration between Kunsthalle Bielefeld, White Chapel Gallery and the Vincent Van Gogh Arles Foundation, the exhibition celebrates female artistic production beyond a look at the expressionist movement recognized predominantly by white male painters.⁠
