The Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian in Lisbon presents Habitar a Contradição, a solo exhibition by Carlos Bunga opening to the public on November 8. Considered one of the artist’s most complex and personal projects to date, the show culminates in ‘Bosque’ (2025), Bunga’s largest installation so far.

Taking as its starting point the drawing ‘My first house was a woman 1975’ (2018), the exhibition offers an immersive experience that explores memory, transformation, and the relationship between home, body, and universe. Spanning several galleries and extending into the museum’s garden, the presentation brings together architectural interventions, paintings, and works from the CAM Collection in a reflection on absence, impermanence, and reinvention.

Habitar a Contradição remains on view through March 30, 2026, at Centro de Arte Moderna Gulbenkian in Portugal.
