vik muniz: a olho nu

centro cultural do banco do brasil, rio de janeiro, brazil
20.5 - 5.9.2026

The largest retrospective ever held on the work of Vik Muniz, an internationally renowned Brazilian artist recognized for investigating the boundaries between image, matter, and perception. The exhibition brings together three-dimensional works from the beginning of his career, emblematic photographic series that have defined his production over the years, and recent works, offering a comprehensive overview of more than three decades of contribution to contemporary art.

By articulating distinct processes, materials, and scales, the exhibition highlights the poetic and conceptual complexity of a body of work that challenges the ways in which images are seen, represented, and understood in the contemporary world. Vik Muniz – A olho nu offers an experience that combines immediate impact with critical reflection, reaffirming the artist’s role as one of the leading mediators between contemporary art, visual perception, and shared culture.
