Nara Roesler is pleased to share that Thiago Barbalho presents the exhibition Hand in Hand alongside Lidia Lisboa at Elizabeth Xi Bauer, in London.
The exhibition takes its title from ‘Hand in Hand’ (1940), a poem by Carlos Drummond de Andrade that reflects on the role of the individual within a complex and often turbulent world. Rejecting escapism as a viable stance, the poem emphasizes a commitment to the present and to collective existence. Rather than retreating into isolation, Drummond proposes urgency and solidarity as essential forces that imbue life with meaning—an invitation to remain connected and to move forward together.
